What was minted

Creatures are companion units with persistent traits, recorded on-chain at mint so no two units share the same profile. Unlike decorative collectibles, each one is a functional asset: it can be trained, upgraded, rented out, and traded on the open market.

Why the cap mattered

The mint window was capped and time-limited by design. Kardian World does not mint governance tokens from in-world activity, and the same restraint applies to asset supply — a class that can be produced without limit is a class with no floor. The 8,142 figure is now fixed for this generation.

Where they're useful

In The Void, Creatures extend a harvester's effective range by scouting ahead of the crew. In The Kardex, they handle routine tasks while their owner is offline — both map to real contract calls, not cosmetic animations.

What happens next

Secondary trading is live on the Kardian Marketplace, with royalties routed back to original creators on every resale. A second generation only opens after the DAO votes on supply parameters. All mint records are publicly queryable on Ethereum.
