DAO Voting Guide

Shape the future of The Kardex. Explore the vision for a nine-member, community-elected DAO council and the governance systems in development.

How to vote

How voting power is calculated

Voting power blends three sources by weight, not raw token count alone — no single address, including the team's own, can ever exceed 5% of total voting power.

The Kard Council

A nine-seat council reviews and prioritizes proposals, manages emergency response, and represents the community — all bound by the same 5% power cap as everyone else. The first council is elected during Phase 2 of the roadmap, transferring authority away from the initial deployment multisig.

Why decisions don't execute instantly

Every governance decision passes through a timelock scaled to its consequence — module upgrades wait 48 hours, compliance-system upgrades wait 7 days, and the most sensitive actions can run up to 30 days. Nothing controversial can be pushed through overnight, by design.

Transparency and appeals

Every major contract ships a public, free, read-only view of its internal state. Voting, treasury movement, and council actions are permanently recorded on-chain. A formal appeal process exists for anyone slashed in error — the governance process itself has its own safety mechanism.
